Stickley Eastwood Chair 89-2638

Originally designed around 1901 and named for Stickley's Eastwood factory near Syracuse, New York, this chair is an early example of Craftsman design and one of the most sought-after by collectors and connoisseurs. It must also have been a favorite of Gustav Stickley, who had them in his homes in Syracuse and in Parsippany, New Jersey. Like the original, the reissue is made of solid quartersawn white oak with pinned through-tenons. The impressive, solid quadrilinear post, a distinctive feature of all reissued Mission Oak pieces, ensures that ray flake can be seen on all four sides, an improvement on veneered turn-of-the-century examples. Available in fabric or leather.
